Collaboration in bloom!

I have started a collaborative project with a printmaker Damon Kowarsky .
I feel privileged to have this project with him as I admire his prints!
And it's been really motivating too.

The process of this collaboration is:
1. he gives me his pencil drawing
2. i vandalise what he's done
3. he draw his parts on a copper plate
4. i do my bits
5. etch the plate together!

This image is the first one Damon proofed.

I feel I have been able to sort of break out from my usual work.
My head has been in blossom!

Small works in progress

I've started new series of small etchings. I've done my first line drawings and tones etched.
I think I'll add more tones or colour.

I love etching a copperplate in a process room, it always feels kind of like an alchemy.

I just want to keep drawing on copperplate all day long!

I'm glad I can do etching as our print workshop is re-opened.
This press above is a beautiful addition to the workshop. I use it for woodblock, not for etchings but beautiful to look at in the studio.
